Bachelor’s degree or higher in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Health Information Management, or a closely related field
•
Minimum five (5) years’ experience within the past ten (10) years in healthcare administration or project and/or program management
•
Practical knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques for establishing internal control activities, monitoring their use, and evaluating their performance
•
Practical knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, managing projects and resources, including monitoring, and inspecting costs and work, in developing in managing project
•
Practical knowledge of general medical ethics and telephone etiquette
•
Practical knowledge of organizing work, setting priorities, and determining resource requirements; determining short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinating with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; and monitoring progress and evaluate outcomes

Responsibilities
•
The DHA Medical Coding Compliance/Auditing Project Management Specialist provides technical and managerial assistance on all aspects of project management to comply with the technical requirements of the contract for the customer
•
You will be managing and coordinating the technical and administrative staff by assigning, scheduling, prioritizing, coordinating, and facilitating multiple tasks
•
You will provide support to the Coding Compliance and Coding Auditing teams through data collection, fact-finding, and analysis; program and project status reporting; coordination to optimize resources; creating and publishing reports; and developing and maintaining internal administrative policies and procedures to facilitate Coding Compliance and Coding Auditing operations
•
The work also includes providing administrative support to the DHA-MCPB government staff
•
Collaborates with the Lead Medical Coding Compliance Specialist and Lead Medical Coding Auditing Specialist in planning and scheduling respective team projects to meet project goals and objectives
•
Monitors and evaluates project metrics, progress, and timelines
•
Determines the level of schedule compliance and identifies reasons for completion shortfalls
•
Establishes and maintains team metrics for Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) and other reporting
•
Gathers and analyzes information to prepare status reports
•
Prepares reports for management and maintains all essential records and reports
•
Ensures that all work orders and projects are properly documented and closed in scheduling systems
•
Prepare communication for widespread distribution within the organization
•
Prepares reports related to productivity, operations, and utilization of resources for utilization in the determination of effectiveness of the programs
•
Assists in the development of program-specific reports for use within the organization
•
Assists in the documentation of reports, manuals, staff papers and correspondence on applicable subjects and issues
•
Provides administrative and logistical support including meeting arrangement, progress tracking, and documentation
•
Evaluates current procedures and recommends changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling of projects
•
Responsible for data collection and analysis for special reports and assures that reports are prepared in a timely manner and that they contain all required information
•
Validates data for accuracy and completeness and refine into format for specific individual responses or summary reports
•
Provides guidance and instruction to originators on information requirements, modifications in processing methods and proper reporting procedures
